What are the network requirements for KOMP?
Which wireless standards does KOMP support?
802.11 ac/a/b/g/n (2.4GHz + 5GHz, 2x2 MU-MIMO)
Which network security mechanisms does KOMP support?
KOMP supports open networks, and networks protected by WEP / WPA / WPA2 Personal / Enterprise. Specifically it supports WPA Enterprise 802.1x (PEAP). Networks that require http-proxy or firewalls that block all ports out of the network are not supported.
What if we need to use a guest network?
Public networks are often protected by captive portals. Please contact the responsible IT department, and they can approve KOMP for the network. All they have to do is to whitelist KOMP MAC address, which we can supply to you.
What do we do if our network is not supported?
Usually the simplest solution is to acquire a mobile broadband router. This means that KOMP will connect with WiFi to the router, and then to the internett using the routers 4G.
The following ports on the network have to be accessible for KOMP
- TCP: ev-grpc.noisolation.com:443
- TCP: ev-gateway.noisolation.com:443
- TCP: ev-gateway.noisolation.com:51051
- TCP: upgradesrv.noisolation.com:443
- TCP: upgradesrv1.noisolation.com:443
- UDP: global.stun.twilio.com:3478
- UDP: global.turn.twilio.com:3478
KOMP will try to establish the video call using any high port number on UDP, as that will often allow the use of peer-to-peer communication. This gives better performance, and less delay.
